Entertainers, Uncle Sam needs you to perform in the 2009 USO Show! Scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, at the historic Palace Theatre, the USO Show commemorates Veterans’ Day and pays tribute to all our veterans in Cumberland County.
If you can sing like Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Dinah Shore, or Doris Day, you don’t want to miss your opportunity for fame and acclaim in Crossville.
The USO Show, sponsored by The Crab-Orchard Daughters of the American Revolution, is a nostalgic radio-style variety show that spotlights entertainers from the World War II days of the 1940s and later. It includes impersonations of popular vocalists, comedians, and other entertainers as well as historic men and women known for their fiery speeches.
This popular, community-wide show is the major fund-raising project of the local DAR Chapter. Proceeds from the USO Show go to the Veterans’ Emergency Fund, started by the local DAR Chapter and administered by the Cumberland County Veterans’ Service Office. Funds from the show also go to historic, education, and patriotic activities and projects for the community.
So demonstrate your patriotic and community spirit by sharing your talents with the people of Crossville and Cumberland County. Uncle Sam needs you to perform!
To schedule an audition, call Linda Baker at 484-0958 or Emmy Edwards at 456-8092 before Oct. 15. Don’t miss your opportunity for fame and acclaim in Crossville!
