Harvest Moon Festival Golden Oldies Cruise-In planned Saturday, Oct. 24

Downtown Crossville, Inc. (DCI) presents a “Harvest Moon Festival Golden Oldies Cruise-In!” Saturday, Oct. 24, from 1-6 p.m. Downtown streets will be lined with classic cars and music will be presented on a stage set up on Fourth Street. From 2-3:30 p.m. enjoy the sounds of the “Rat Pack” era by “The Dean Martinis” of Nashville and from 4-6 p.m. the classic rock and country of “The Trackside Band.” The event also includes food vendors and booths at the Depot offering a variety of merchandise.

Children will especially enjoy the unveiling of event sponsor Spirit Broadband’s new mascot at approximately 3:30 p.m. A great deal of secrecy surrounds the identity of the new mascot and Spirit Broadband promises the mascot’s arrival will be lots of fun for the whole family. There will be treats for the children and photos with the mascot. Spirit Broadband will also be drawing winners throughout the afternoon for a variety of prizes including home theater units and a 32” flat screen TV. Fill out a quick and easy survey the day of the Cruise-In and enter for your chance to win one of these great prizes.

Stop by the DCI booth and enter the 2009 Cruise-In Give-Away. Three lucky winners will be drawn at the close of the day’s event. Prizes for this end of the season drawing include a recliner from Mayberry’s, $100 gift certificate from Dave’s Pawn Shop and $100 Downtown Dollars from DCI. Just fill out an entry slip with your name and phone number and put it in the entry box at the DCI booth located on courthouse lawn. Don’t miss your opportunity to win!

DCI volunteers will also collect votes for this year’s “People’s Choice Award” for fall decoration of a business in the downtown area. As you walk or drive through downtown Crossville you can’t help but notice the festive fall decorations many businesses have placed in front of their establishments. You, the public, will decide which decorative scene you find most appealing. Just email your choice to DCI at dci@volfirst.net or stop by the DCI tent on Oct. 24 to make your choice known. The voting deadline is Oct. 30.

Many thanks to Spirit Broadband for their continuing support of Classic Car Cruise-Ins organized by Downtown Crossville, Inc. Admission is free and the events are open to the public. For further information call Downtown Crossville, Inc. at 787-1324.
