Joyce and Mike Ferry to receive Golden Deeds Award on Oct. 29

Volunteer efforts are very important to our society and should not go unnoticed. The National Exchange Club’s longest running project, the Book of Golden Deeds Award, recognizes dedicated volunteers who give endless hours of their time and talents toward making their communities better places to live. Ever since the Exchange Club, of Huntington, IN, sponsored the first award in 1919, thousands of unsung heroes and heroines have been recognized.

Honoring a fellow citizen with the Book of Golden Deeds Award is a heartwarming and inspiring act not only for the honoree, but for any Exchange Club. The Book of Golden Deeds Award exemplifies The National Exchange Club’s beliefs.

This year the Lake Tansi Exchange Club will present the Book of Golden Deeds Award to Joyce and Mike Ferry. Their history of volunteerism is long and constant to the Lake Tansi and Cumberland County areas.

Friends and neighbors are encouraged to attend this event and join with the club members in recognizing these deserving people on Oct. 29, at Mitch’s Restaurant in Lake Tansi. The social hour is at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person, with tax and tip included. Tickets are available from John Lyon (788-5828), Ray Carpenter (788-5433), Roger Coulther (788-2069), and Mack Bissinger (788-1021).
