Cumberland County Elks Lodge 2751 grows to 529 total members after initiating four in December. Exalted Ruler Jim Anderson commented, “It’s been a great year for our membership. Our lodge keeps growing and we keep serving the youth and adults of our community. Our country faced many problems in 2008 but our Elks kept rolling along.”
Three men and one woman were initiated in the lodge in December:
• Dale Brady was born and raised in Crossville. He continues to live in our fine city, working out of his home as a carpenter. Jane Eroh proposed Brady for membership.
• Louis Fowler came into this world in Swickly, PS. He served time in the United States Marine Corps and is now retired in Crossville. Carol Bishop proposed him for membership.
• Larry Scott was born in Dayton, Ohio. He is now retired and moved to Fairfield Glade from Florida as of this year. Pat Doyle proposed Scott for membership.
• Amanda Wallace was also born in Crossville and has lived here her entire life. She is employed as medical records director by Country Place Health Care Center, Inc. J.B. Wallace proposed Wallace for membership.
The Elks organization is more than just a social club. They have many active programs to serve both youth and adults in our community. They do have monthly social events to help meet and get to know other members. Membership is opened to both men and women who are 21 years of age and older, are United States citizens, and believe in God.
The lodge is located at 1145 Genesis Road with business hours Monday-Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. You are invited to stop by for a tour of the facility or call 484-0150 for more information. The lodge is available to rent for private functions at reasonable prices.
