CROSSVILLE —
Fair Park, in partnership with the Upper Cumberland Development District and the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency, is distributing transportation vouchers to seniors aged 60 and older in the city of Crossville. These vouchers will provide free, round-trip transportation to and from the center on Mondays and Wednesdays to take part in group activities, educational programs and a healthful lunch.
Senior centers are among the most widely used services among America’s older adults, serving more than one million older Americans every day. Although many seniors remain active and independent, there is a very real need to provide opportunities for those seniors who are unable to drive, need access to daily nutritious meals, as well as encouraging fellowships among their peers and activities to keep them active and healthy. These vouchers will provide the access to these services to give them an incentive and the means to leave their homes and join in community activities.

Newest engine responds to its first structure fire
The Fairfield Glade Fire Department received a call of a structure fire Wednesday night around 10:20 p.m. from central 911 Dispatch. The fire was called in by a resident who saw a mobile single wide home fully involved with flames coming out of every window the structure.
