Jeff White of Crossville will be featured on two trumpet solos and Carroll Gotcher of Cookeville will perform a trombone medley of Tommy Dorsey music at the Big Band Sound monthly dance, Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Fairfield Glade Community and Conference Center.
It is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 per person. The Community Center staff will decorate with a western theme for the event.

Reservations can be made and tickets paid for prior to the event in person at the Community Center. Reservations by phone may be charged to a credit card. Cancellations made two days before the dance will be given full refunds.
Vocalists Wanda Hepburn and Lloyd Holt will sing slow and upbeat foxtrots and duets.
Latin selections will be included, as well as waltzes, some swing and other danceable favorites.
The Big Band Sound includes music faculty members from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, high school band directors from Middle and East Tennessee, and persons for whom big band music is an avocation.
Dr. Wayne Pegram, professor emeritus of the department of music and art at Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville, is director of the Big Band Sound.

Dance clubs and classes are welcome. Tables seat eight persons and may be
reserved. The dance committee furnishes soft drinks and light snacks. Other beverages and party foods are permitted and may be brought into the facility by those attending.
The Community Center is located six miles north of I-40 (Exit 322, Peavine Road). It is at 128 Stonehenge Drive, Fairfield Glade.
