Fairfield Glade Resident Services (FGRS) will host two Safety and Security Workshops Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Community and Conference Center. Safe Internet Banking Practices will be featured from 9-10 a.m., and the Neighborhood Watch “Care” Ring program will follow, 10:30 a.m. to noon. These programs are free and are designed to follow-up and expand on the previous successful forums and workshops sponsored by FGRS. Mark your calendar and make plans to attend and be informed and prepared in matters of your safety and security.
Would you like to do your personal banking online with the same confidence and trust that you have visiting your local bank office? What about paying your cell phone or electric bills online, and knowing they will be paid on time? What is the best way to shop and buy from online retailers? If you would like expert answers to these questions plan to attend the Safe Internet Banking Workshop and learn important tips that will help you keep your identity and personal information safe on the Internet.
Steve Loghry, chief technology officer at First National Bank of Tennessee, will lead the workshop. Steve has been employed at FNB since 1998. His job involves keeping the bank’s information technology systems running smoothly and securely, while helping both FNB team members and customers to use those systems effectively.
The Neighborhood Watch “Care” Ring program addresses unmet needs that Fairfield Glade residents have previously identified as important. The program is managed by Joan Fredericks and Jack Eisenlord. It is a program designed to help you and your neighbors with personal and property security. If you engage this program, you will be alerted when natural or manmade disasters threaten, and be prepared for any health/medical emergency. FGRS is working with assistance from 911, Cumberland County EMS and Sheriff’s Department, Fairfield Glade Public Safety, Fire Department, and Community Club, CMC and CMC volunteers, Cumberland County Chapter of American Red Cross, Fairfield Glade Rotary Club and other volunteers at the workshops and activities of the FGRS. All of the many services you will hear about are available free-of charge, but only if you are informed and aware by attending these workshops.
