Fall tennis is under way at the Fairfield Glade Tennis Center.

Fall/winter hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sundays, open from 1-5 p.m. through October.

The clay courts will remain open for several more weeks, until the first freeze, but the hard courts will stay open all winter. The indoor courts are always available for members or guests.

Stroke of the Day, conducted by head teaching professional William Taylor, takes place Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m. Members and non-members are invited to participate for only $10 per hour.

Mixers are scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays from 2-4 p.m. These are open to players of all levels and the cost is $10 per person. Reservations are required.

A new “Never Ever” beginner class is scheduled to begin Nov. 7. The class will be held Saturdays from 1-2 p.m. for six weeks and cost is $50.

This class is for anyone who may have played years ago and wants to start playing again or for those who have never ever picked up a racquet. Participants will learn the basics of forehand, backhand, serve, volley, scoring, strategy, and rules.

A new Junior L4 tournament has been scheduled for Dec. 18-20. It’s singles only and open to any junior 12, 14, 16, and 18 and under who is ranked or unranked. It is sanctioned by the USTA and all participants must be members of the USTA.
