Did the FGCC fire the first election committee?

At the May meeting of the Fairfield Glade Community Club board of directors, President Charlie Woll says the idea going around the Glade that the first 2009 election committee was fired is incorrect.

Giving a historical account, Woll said the first chairman selected was going to be out of town for most of the summer, but had submitted a list of potential committee members to the board. "I did not like the makeup of that potential committee, for personal reasons, so I rejected it," said Woll. "It was never a committee."

"It's very important that we have a pristine, clear, non politically motivated group of people to serve."

Phil Magdich, who is the chairman of the 2009 election committee, delivered the committee's report to the FGCC board of directors on May 28. He said the election is in the early stages of planning, but has already selected Plemmons-Jackson & Cabaniss, PLLC, of Crossville, as the CPA firm to handle the collection of ballots and tabulating of votes. The committee plans a town hall meeting after the candidates have been determined. The next meeting of the committee is June 30.
