Tom Royce of Dayton, TN won the singles and doubles events while Lake Tansi’s Jim Ezelle took home the handicap award at the club’s 4th Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) event of the year on June 20.
Royce, a Class A shooter, fired four 24X25’s to post a winning 96X100 in singles, then stepped up later to dominate the doubles competition with a 94X100. Royce competes with a Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon in singles and a Remington 3200 in doubles.
Ezelle, firing an SKB-85TTR, took the handicap championship with a 94X100 while shooting from the 20 yard line.
Runner-up in the singles event in a shoot-off was Cookeville’s Don Dickerson over Crossville’s Gil Lokey after both tied with 93X100.
Carl Wedlick of Lake Tansi was runner-up in the handicap event with a 92X100.
Dickerson also took the consolation prize in doubles with an 81X100.
The club’s next ATA shoot is on July 12. Remember, you don’t have to be a top-dog shooter to compete in ATA events. Just come out and have some fun.

The Renaissance Hotel in downtown Columbus, Ohio, has a very efficient laundry room. The storage room is quite ample also. The employees are extremely friendly. How do we know? We were there. We were attending the graduation ceremony at the Ohio theatre and had reservations at the Renaissance.
