Bob Weber, General Manager, and the Board of Directors of Fairfield Glade Community Club (FGCC) are pleased to announce that Mary Jo Paige will join the Club next month before Memorial Day as Director of Marketing and Events.

Ladies Club annual spring fashion show was a success
Living up to the theme of ‘Sizzle with Style’ Sue Brown and Linda Chiaramonte, Co-Chairs, oversaw a successful Spring Fashion Show for members and guests of the Fairfield Glade Ladies Club. On April 3, over 300 delighted women (and a few men) viewed this season’s latest spring, sport and resort wear.

Clay Crushers dominate at Doug Server shootÂ
For the second straight year, the Cumberland County Clay Crushers trap team dominated four other competing scholastic clay target program teams from central Tennessee to take shooting honors at the second annual Doug Server shoot-on-the-mountain on April 13 at the Fairfield Glade Sportsman Club.

A farewell to Norman
It is with a great deal of sadness that we bid farewell to Norman, a Leader Dog for the Blind. He has faithfully served his blind friend Donna Taylor and the East Tennessee community for the past six years.

So far in this series on the United States Constitution, I've made it up to the Fifth Amendment. The recent attack in Boston highlights the importance of the protections guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. In my last columns, I talked about being Mirandized and due process of law, both of which are current topics being discussed in the news.

ABACUS COLUMN: What is the path to freedom from terror?
When did I first become aware of terrorism? I had to check my safety deposit box for my expired passports because my memory is suspect at my age. There were four passports with visa stamps beginning in 1968. My fifth passport was issued in Cumberland County on January 15, 2009 and expires January 14, 2019. I am not taking bets that I will apply for number six. The young lady who issued my new passport said she had never issued a fifth passport before. It is nice to be first, even in expired passports.
