The Lake Tansi Exchange Club annual benefit golf tournament was held on Saturday, May 2, at the Lake Tansi Golf Course. The turnout was excellent considering the weather, with 23 teams in attendance. The food was catered by American Restaurant. Many door prizes were distributed and refreshments were available on the course. Three teams placed in each of the three flights in the four-person scramble event.
First flight winners were: first place, Dan and Sharon Kington/John and Dianne Withers; second place, Farrell Odom/Janet Brooker/Brad Davis/Larry Heslep; third place, John Coahran/Steve Wyatt/Tom Upshaw/Howard Mercer.
Second flight winners were: first place, Jim Hellem/Scott Turner/Ron Fleming/Bill McDurmon; second place, John Lyon/Pauline Sherrer,/Larry Robertson/Gary Barrett; third place, Don Ferry/Doug Hansen/LeeGarner/Kermit Hurley.
Third flight winners were: first place, Joe Bennett/Chuck Sparks/David Sutton/Ken Qualls; second place, Mark Thompson/Dexter West/Richard Ely, Sr./Richard Ely, Jr.; third place, Bill Cox/Joe Hamilton/Jerry Gorman/Bill Sutton.
In addition to the flight winners, prizes were furnished for closest-to-the-hole on par 3s, longest and most accurate drives for men and women and the best dressed foursome.
The Exchange Club appreciates the participation and effort put into this tournament, which benefits the child abuse program at the Stephens Center in Livingston, TN.

Long-time resident Carr passes away
Marie Carr, 93, passed away peacefully at home May 3, 2012. She resided in Shady Shores, TX, with her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Steve Miller. A memorial service will be held at Crossville First United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 23, at 2 p.m.

Exchange Club tourney comes down to scorecard playoff
The Lake Tansi Exchange Club hosted their annual tournament May 5 at the Lake Tansi Golf Course. Thirty-two teams enjoyed nice weather and good good to raise money for the Exchange Club's charities.

Memorial Day ceremony set

TSUD looking for volunteers
The Tansi Sewer Utility District is looking for 4 to 6 volunteers who would be interested in serving as a commissioner on their board of directors. Once appointed they would be expected to attend a monthly Board Meeting and any Special Board Meetings that might be called.
