City sewer proposal revised
Crossville Mayor J.H. Graham III has revised his proposal for a merger of the Tansi Sewer Utility District and South Cumberland Utility District with the city of Crossville, removing the payment of a minimum bill by those not using sewer service and increasing the monthly minimum bill to $50.

The 2012 Lake Tansi Lake Patrol end of season party
On Saturday, Nov. 10, the Lake Tansi Lake Patrol held their annual end of season party. The 2012 summer season was a safe and enjoyable time for all. All of the patrol officers did a wonderful job providing a safe environment for everyone who wanted to enjoy the lake. They are a dedicated group who provide a very necessary service to the community.

Merry Christmas from the GM
The Christmas season is fast approaching. I would like to wish each and everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you are blessed with the true meaning of Christmas. We have a lot of challenges ahead of us next year, with the membership voting down a dues increase, but that is not going to stop us from making 2013 a great year for the Lake Tansi POA.

USGA, R&A change putter anchoring rule
There has been a lot of buzz and talk over the last year or so as to whether golf's ruling bodies, the USGA and R&A, would make a move to ban the "belly" and "long" putters. There are a lot of opinions about whether they should be legal, and the governing bodies have spoken recently.

Alaskan cruise to benefit child abuse prevention
The Lake Tansi Exchange Club is once again sponsoring a “FUN” fund raiser cruise with the destination being Alaska. As in the past, Norwegian Cruise Lines has agreed to make a donation to the club based on the number of cabins sold and we have earned between $4,000 and $8,000. All proceeds have gone for child abuse prevention and victims of child abuse and we look forward to another “FUN” fund raiser cruise for this worthy cause.

Community mourns loss of local icon
Looking up into the sky on a clear night can make one feel insignificant. The sheer enormity of the universe is overwhelming. Sometimes there are people who do so much and have such big personalities that looking at the enormity of their life has the same effect. Joyce Ferry was such a person.

Lake Tansi Veterans Day Celebration
On Veterans Day the Lake Tansi Exchange Club sponsored a 2012 Veterans Day Commemoration at Veterans Park near the POA.

Proposal a starting point for sewer
Cumberland County Mayor Kenneth Carey Jr. told a group of Tansi area residents that while there are many issues to work out in a proposed merger of the Tansi Sewer Utility District, South Cumberland Utility District and city of Crossville, the proposal by Crossville Mayor J.H. Graham III offers a starting point to find a solution for continuing issues and concerns surrounding the sewer district.

The 2013 Lake Tansi phone directory was delivered to all resident mailboxes in late November. Copies are also available at the Lake Tansi POA office.
