Two cabins burn; investigation continues

Cumberland County firefighters and sheriff's deputies responded to a remote section of eastern Cumberland County over the weekend after two structures burned to the ground, according to reports.

No one was injured but both buildings were reportedly a total loss, according to Sgt. Roy Kemmer's report.

County firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on Manning Rd. off Dogwood Rd. in the Grandview community Monday shortly before 8 p.m. and first responders on the scene reported that two cabins were fully enveloped in flames.

The cabins were owned by Ben Burton of Crossville who was called to the scene. Investigators do believe arson was the cause of the two fires. Investigation is continuing.
