CROSSVILLE — An Ashland City man accused with another Middle Tennessee resident of stealing thoursands of dollars worth of catalytic converters and mufflers cut off from vehicles on a Crossville car lot, has pleaded guilty and received a suspended sentence.

Gregory Ray Branam, 25, of Ashland City, and Sean Christopher Geary, 29, of Pleasantview, were arrested last November by Crossville police afer being found in the vicinity of East Tennessee Dodge off N. Main St.

Police on routeine patrol found that nine catalytic converters and nine mufflers had been cut off new Dodge Ram 2500 pickup trucks. Loss was placed at $27,000.

The two were later taken into custody walking along Interstate Dr. in the area of the BP Travel Plaza.

Geary appeared in Criminal Court and pleaded guilty to theft of more than $10,000 and received a three-year suspended sentence to be served under supervised probation. He, along with his co-defendant, are to pay restitution to the dealership.
