Concert to benefit downtown revitalization

CROSSVILLE —

Downtown Crossville, Inc, in conjunction with Cumberland Medical Center, will be presenting a series of exciting concerts to support DCI in efforts to continue the revitalization of Downtown Crossville. The first concert will showcase the talents of Felicia Keyes and Luther Myers, two local talents who also work at CMC.

Keyes made her first appearance on stage when pulled from the audience by Billy Ray Cyrus to sing with him on stage. She had known she wanted to be a performer from the age of three and has pursued a musical career in addition to her family and professional life.  Alicia went on to appear at Dollywood and has associated with other big names such as Garth Brooks, Pam Tillis and Sawyer Brown  She may be better known locally for her appearances with local favorite  Johnny Moore.

Luther Myers says one of his fondest memories is playing on stage with Hank William’s steel guitarist Don Helms in what turned out to be Helms’  last performance.  Luthor started playing guitar at age 13 and has appeared with stars such as Jack Greene, Helms and Becky Hobbs. As does Felicia, he juggles his musical career with family and work at CMC.

Curtain time at the Palace is 7 PM on January 30. Tickets, which are $10, will benefit Downtown Crossville, Inc. and their efforts in Downtown Crossville. This is the second in a series of DCI,  concerts which began last June.  Three more concerts this year will continue aggressive fundraising efforts to support the structural downtown revitalization efforts which are mere months away.

Downtown Crossville, Inc. is focused on creating an economic climate in the downtown area to increase sales tax revenue and property tax values.  The infrastructure project will update the water pipes, storm drainage, sidewalks, lighting, and traffic lighting to encourage retail and restaurant development.  DCI is raising funds to support the infrastructure progress with enhancements to encourage retail shopping and downtown activities.
