A Rhea County woman suffered a serious injury to her leg in a four-wheeler crash that occurred Sept. 3 on Hinch Mountain, according to a Cumberland County Sheriff's Department report.
Deputies were called to Hinch Mountain Rd., off Old Hwy. 28, shortly before 9 p.m. on a report of an ATV crash and found the victim to be suffering from a large open wound to her lower right leg, small cut and abrasions to the head with back and complaints of pain in her back and hips.
The victim, identified as Margie L. Oakley, 41, Overlook Trail, Spring City, was taken by ambulance to a nearby field where she was picked up by an helicopter ambulance and airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
No other injuries were reported in connection with the incident, according to Lt. Scott Iles' report.
