The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department is investigating the cause of a fire that caused major damage to a residence under construction, according to police reports.
The incident was reported to the fire department and sheriff's office Nov. 6 shortly after 2:30 p.m., according to Investigator Scott Griffin's report. No one was hurt in the incident.
Responders went to the 300 block of Leland Pryor Rd. and found that a house under construction had been set on fire, with damage to the wall, floor, floor joists, main support beam, rafter and door that had not been installed.
Christopher Dalton was identified as the owner of the residence. Damage to the house was placed at $60,000. Investigation is continuing.
