Incumbent Cumberland County Mayor Brock Hill is one of several additional candidates who have picked up papers from the Cumberland County Election Commission in order to run for office in either the county primary election in May and/or the county general election/state primary election in August.
As of Feb. 2, 24 candidates have picked up papers for the county general election primary. According to the election commission office, the deadline for filing election papers for the county primary is Feb. 18 at noon. Some of the candidates have already returned and filed their papers.
All candidates are listed in alphabetical order.

Candidates who wish to run in the county primary in May must return their papers to the Cumberland County Election Commission by the Feb. 18, 2010 deadline.
Candidates who wish to run in the state primary or county general election in August must return their papers to the Cumberland County Election Commission by the April 1, 2010 deadline.
The last day to register to vote for the May 4 county primary is April 5. Early voting for the May 4 primary will be April 14-29.
The last day to register to vote for county general election and state primary on Aug. 5 will be July 6. Early voting for the Aug. 5 county general and state primary election will be July 16-31.
