A woman charged with multiple counts of prescription fraud and with criminal impersonation was granted pre-trial diversion last week in Cumberland County Criminal Court and if she successfully completes conditions of her probation, she will be allowed to have the charges removed from her record.
Amber Marie Burgess was placed on probation for two years during which time her conduct will be monitored by probation officers with the Department of Corrections. She must complete several hours of community service and pay court costs.
Burgess was indicted Jan. 5 for receiving hydrocodone pills from four different pharmacies in Crossville on July 19, 2009. She was also accused of presenting a false identity to obtain the prescription drugs.
If she fails to meet conditions of her probation, Burgess' cases will be placed back on the Criminal Court docket for disposition.
In other cases on the docket Aug. 18, the following took place.
