Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary and theft of a residence where the family pet was taken along with numerous items of jewelry and electronics.
Arrested were John Charles Teague, 23, H102 Ironhorse Dr., charged with aggravated burglary, theft of property and vandalism; and Brianna Nicole Teague, 20, 113 Iron Horse, charged with vandalism, theft of property and aggravated burglary.
The victim in the case returned to his Carrie Dr. home June 12 at about 7:30 p.m. to find someone had entered the house by breaking a window in the rear of the house.
Taken in the burglary were numerous items of jewelry, a computer, collectable coins, an iPod, DVD player, several women's watches, cash and a television. Also missing from the home was a Chinese Pug dog. Total loss in the burglary was placed at $123,685.
The homeowner had met a small green car on the road not far from his house and described a male driving with a female in the passenger seat.
According to the affidavit filed by Investigator Bo Kollros, the homeowner called dispatch the next day and said he had found the car that he had met on the road to his home and followed it to the Liberty Market in Crab Orchard. The woman driving the car appeared to be the woman he saw in the passenger seat the day before.
The driver was identified as Brianna Teague. According to the affidavit, a search of the vehicle revealed an ink pen from nuclear training. The victim works at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant and identified the pen as his. A wedding ring identified as belonging to the victim's wife was found not far from where Teague and her juvenile passenger were sitting. Also found in the car were black latex-type gloves in the glove compartment.
Charles Teague was identified through a photo line-up as the male he had seen driving the car the day before.
Both suspects were to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court June 21.
