A woman returning home apparently surprised two burglars in the act of breaking into her home and stealing items, according to Crossville Police reports.

The victim arrived at her Creekwood Circle residence around 12:30 p.m. to find a large gold-colored SUV backed into her driveway. When the victim approached in her vehicle, the woman driver exited her driveway, stopped beside her vehicle and asked, "Does Sara live here?" When told no, the woman left traveling toward Creekway, according to Ptl. D. Harris' report.

As the woman parked in front of her residence, she spotted a man running into the woods and north from her home. She then discovered that her home had been broken into when someone kicked open the front door.

The burglar exited the residence through a rear sliding glass door, but not before taking a laptop computer valued at $1,500.

Three guitars were found stacked on the floor near the front door.

Police, sheriff's deputies and a helicopter from the Tennessee Highway Patrol searched the area for the two suspects without luck. Investigation is continuing.
