Flim flammers hit elderly victim for hundreds
An elderly Cumberland County woman found herself the victim of home repair flim flammers who stole money from her home while she was distracted.
The Hwy. 70 N woman Thursday told sheriff's deputies that two men in an older model car, possibly a gray four-door Ford, came to her home looking for remodeling work, according to Deputy Richard Tinch's report.
While one of the men talked to the victim, the other man looked at rooms throughout the residence under the guise of assessing how much repair and remodel work would cost.
While walking through the residence, the second man gained access to the victim's purse and tole $430 in cash from the woman.
Investigators are looking for two men, both of stocky build and around six-foot tall, and in their mid 30s.
Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects is asked to call investigators at the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department.
