CROSSVILLE —
A frantic 911 call sent firefighters, ambulance personnel and sheriff's deputies to a Randolph Rd. address after a mom reported that her baby was on the roof of her house. When officials arrived on the scene, all they found was the mom staring at the roof. There was no baby present.
Magdalena Maqrie Nolz, 21, 14882 Hwy. 127 N, is charged with filing a false report and public intoxication. Bond was set at $1,250.
The call was received at the E-911 Center Monday afternoon. A woman caller reported that her three-year-old baby was on the roof of their residence.
Officials rushed to the scene to find Nolz standing on a second story porch railing, looking at the roof. Emergency personnel did not find a child on the roof and upon questioning by sheriff's deputies, it was learned that the child being reported in danger was the child of a relative who was not at the Randolph Rd. residence.
Nolz reportedly told responders that the child's grandmother reported to her the child was on the roof, according to Cpl. Jeff Turner's report.
Deputies spoke with the mother who reported that she and the child were in Clarkrange and were fine. The grandmother was in the hospital and unaware of the situation.
Nolz reportedly admitted to deputies that she had been drinking and taking prescription medication prior to phoning in the report of a child in danger, Turner reported.
She was then taken into custody and booked at the Justice Center.
