If one is transporting a clandestine methamphetamine lab, the thing to do is not draw attention to themselves by speeding down Main St. in Crab Orchard. That is what happened Monday afternoon, resulting in a lab being seized and two Cumberland County men being placed under arrest.
Charged with promotion of the manufacture, sale or delivery of methamphetamine are Kenneth Marion Godsey, 43, 1483 Brown Creek Rd., and Christopher Allen Jolley, 22, 11606 Hwy. 70 E, Crab Orchard, according to K-9 Officer Al Seitner's report.
Seitner stopped a 1992 Oldsmobile on Main St. in Crab Orchard for speeding around 2:37 p.m. Monday. When the occupants started acting suspicious, Seitner asked for consent to search the vehicle but was denied. He then deployed his drug detection dog on a walk around the vehicle and the dog alerted, the two occupants became irate and started yelling at the officer.
Deputies Loshbough and Turner arrived on the scene to back up the arresting officer and components common in the manufacture of meth were found in the vehicle.
Bond was set at $5,000 for each man and both are to appear Oct. 22 in General Sessions Court.
