Two were hurt in the crash of this van with a pickup truck pulling a trailer with cows on it Saturday morning around 11 a.m. on Hwy. 70 N at Maryetta St. Zella Mae Patefield, 78, of Lakeside Dr., Fairfield Glade, was driving a Chrysler Town and Country van when she pulled onto Hwy. 70 from a side road and into the path of a 1992 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Justin D. Wyatt, 25, Lantana Rd.
The impact of the truck striking the side of the van sent the van flying off the road and into a metal building that houses Discount Building and Home Supply. Patefield and her passenger, Steven Patefield Haugen, 12, Hayward, WI, were taken by ambulance to Cumberland Medical Center. The crash tied up Saturday morning traffic for just under an hour.
