Fourth suspect in double homicide appointed attorney

The last person arrested in connection with the Nov. 7 fatal shooting of two men near Crab Orchard was appointed representation and is continued to be held without bond following a brief hearing Monday.

Cody R. Cofer, 22, of Kingston, was arrested by police Nov. 10 and has been in jail since that time.

Robert Marlow, a former Crossville attorney now practicing in Shelbyville, was appointed to represent Cofer during the short appearance before General Sessions Judge Larry Warner Monday.

A hearing for Cofer and three other defendants is set for Dec. 4.

Cofer, Amanda Spence and Alexander Carino of Crossville and Joshua Hutson of Anderson County are all charged with two counts of first-degree murder and with conspiracy to commit aggravated armed robbery of Albert Keith Patton of Crab Orchard and Robert W. Asher of Grandview at the Patton residence on Hwy. 70 E.
