Volunteer Energy Cooperative will be performing upgrades at the Crab Orchard substation on Saturday, Nov. 22, that will require a brief power outage. VEC Area Manager Bobby Randolph said the purpose of the outage is to improve services in this area by upgrading the capacity of the Crab Orchard substation from 10 megawatts to 40 megawatts.
The work is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. on Nov. 22 and is expected to last about one to one and a half hours.
Service will be affected to customers in the areas of Ozone, Crab Orchard, Renegade, Grassy Cove, Cox Valley Road, Alloway and Chestnut Hill.
