Thousands in damage reported by clothes store

A Crossville businesswoman reported one week before Christmas that someone caused thousands of dollars in damage to clothing in her store by spraying an unidentified liquid on the garments, according to police reports.

Crossville Police Ptl. Steven Houston was dispatched to Elegant Events on N. Main St. Friday and met with the owner, Stevie Bosserman, who said she had suffered $37,816 in losses because of the apparent vandalism incident, according to the report.

Bosserman told the officer that between Dec. 12 and Dec. 15, someone sprayed bleach on several articles of clothing in the store. She provided multiple pages of clothing items that were damaged in the incident.

The business at the time of the incident, did not have a surveillance camera in the building and there apparently were no eye witnesses.

Anyone with information about the identity of the person or persons responsible for the damage is asked to call the Crossville Police Department.
