Cumberland County and Stone Memorial split a pair of matches Tuesday afternoon, as they raced the weather to complete the contest.
The CCHS boys defeated Stone in a close 5-4 match, while the Lady Panthers posted an 8-1 victory over the Lady Jets.

"CCHS and Stone both have great groups of players. Both teams competed, exhibited sportmanship and had an enjoyable evening of tennis. CCHS would like to extend their thanks to the Flynns and Teeples who supplied both teams with a wonderful meal after the match," said CCHS Coach Terry Jacos.
CCHS travels to Cookeville April 30 to compete in the individual district tournament at Cookeville High School.

Less than 24 hours before competing in the Class AAA track meet in Murfreesboro, the CCHS track and field teams received their letters and special awards from Coach Ted McCaslin Tuesday evening at Lake Tansi.

The Stone Memorial High School Lady Panthers will be hosting the 2013 Lady Panther basketball camp for girls in grades two through eight, July 15-17, from 9 a.m. to noon in the SMHS gym.

Annual fishing derby to hook anglers June 8
The 13th fishing derby for ages 5-15 will be Saturday, June 8, at Meadow Park Lake. The annual event held every year on "Free Fishing Day" is hosted by the city of Crossville, Veola Water, TWRA and many other sponsors.

CCHS soccer team closes season with banquet
"I have learned a lot from these guys. They played through a ton of injuries," said Cumberland County Jet soccer coach Cub Whitson Sunday evening at the team's annual banquet held in the CCHS wrestling complex. "Thank you for playing this year."

Hutson, Kington to continue track careers on collegiate level
Last Wednesday morning, Stone Memorial High School track team members Rachel Hutson and Makayla Kington signed their National Letters of Intent to participate in college athletics for the 2013-'14 school year.
Hutson will be going to Carson Newman College to compete for the Lady Eagles cross country and track team,s while fellow senior Makayla Kington will be going to Tennessee Tech to throw for Crossville native Tony Cox. - Tryouts for Lady Jets volleyball team set
