Elementary basketball season first half ended

CROSSVILLE — Ashton Doris tallied 12 points to lead the Homestead Bulldogs over the North Patriots in elementary hoop action Dec. 20.

Ben Tabor led North with 12 points.

Scoring summary

Homestead (46): Nathaniel Sexton 4, Tristan Norman 6, Jamie Nichols 6, Gage Cox 4, Curtis Tollett 6, Zach Denton 2, Ashton Doris 12, Brett Newcome 4.

North (24): Mikey VanWinkle 5, Ben Tabor 12, Dawson Hunt 2, Jacob Brown 5. No other players were given.

Martin at Pleasant Hill

Pleasant Hill 38, Martin 17: Emily Pugh tallied 10 markers to lead the Lady Hornets over the Lady Eagles.

Lindsey Norrod led Martin with nine points.

Martin (17): Lindsey Norrod 9, Chelsey Roysdon 4, Jill Moore 3, Shelby  Howard, Amy Soto, Alysson Fuller, Lea Mijatovic 1, Maggie McClain.

Pleasant HIll (38): Maddie Bernabei 8, Bethany Dyer 9, Lexi Lee 5, Brooke Oakes 6, Emily Pugh 10, Heather Brown, Savannah Derrick, Sarah Buckner, Jessie Blalock, Taryn Hammons, Callie Piper, Makayla Underwood.

Pleasant Hill 35, Martin 30: Braden Qualls scored 20 points to lead the Hornets over the Eagles.

Kevin Flories and Tyler Thompson each eight points for the Eagles.

There was no report from the  Crab Orchard at Stone and Homestead at North (girls) games.  Pine View, Brown and South had the open date from county play.

CAK at South

South 40, CAK 30: Silas Clark tallied 20 points to lead the Rebels over CAK.

Alex Telford led CAK with 10 points.

CAK (30): Alex Telford 10, Oronke, Robert Gee 9, Mike Detourk 9, Cole Smith 2, McSpadden.

South (40): Tristan Partridge 6, Silas Clark 20, Jacob Kerley 4, Hayden Woody 7, Lee Hale 3, Josh Dykes.

Jan. 22: Martin at Stone, Pleasant Hill at Crab Orchard, Brown at North. Homestead, South and Pine View have open dates.

Jan. 24: Crab Orchard at Martin, Pleasant Hill at North, Homestead at Brown. Stone, South and Pine View have open dates.

Jan. 31, Feb 1-2, 4-5, 7, 9: These are the tentative dates for the elementary varsity tournament at both CCHS and SMHS.

(Elementary coaches are reminded to submit results on a timely basis. Results more than two weeks old will not be accepted. Coaches are asked to please include first and last names of all players who play, as there players with the same last name on teams and who have siblings also on those teams.)
