Stone Memorial Panther senior Brock Rowan signed a scholarship to continue his basketball career at Shorter University in Rome, GA, for the 2013'-14 school year. Rowan was an All-State player and three-year starter for the Panthers.
"As a first-year coach to have a player like Brock is a blessing," said Capps.
Rowan was the Panthers' second leading scorer last year with 623 points, 70 rebounds, 47 steals, nine blocks and 86 assists, while being named All-Disrict, All-District Tournament and All-Region Tournament.
As a sophomore, he averaged 14 points per game and made 107 three-point baskets. He was MVP of the Science Hill Grindstaff Classic and both All-District 4AA and Region 2AA All-Tournament.
He is the son of Andy and Lisa Rowan, and has a brother, Brice, and a sister, Casey.
Shorter University is a member of the NCAA Division II's Gulf Coast Conference, whose members are Alabama-Huntsville, Christian Brothers, North Alabama, West Florida, Union, Valdosta State, West Alabama, Delta State and West Georgia.
