CROSSVILLE —
There will be a mandatory parents meeting of the incoming freshmen Cumberland County High School football players May 1 at 6 p.m. in the field house. There will be discussion of the player packages and how to go about ordering these at the team shop, as well as summer workouts and football camp. Schedules and calendars will be passed out those in attendance.
The CCHS Jets Spring Jam at the Palace Theater will be May 5. Entertainment will be provided by Marley Wyatt, Olivia Hoyt, Regina Stephens and Phillip Turner and Maggie and Theresa Barnabei.
There will also be a player auction — five players per auction.
Tickets are now on sale for reserved seats or $10 at the door.
The second annual Blue/Gold Hall of Fame scrimmage will be May 12 at 6 p.m at CCHS stadium. The team will be divided and will scrimmage each other.
At halftime of this scrimmage, the Booster club will induct more members into the Football Hall of Fame. Donations will be accepted at the gate.
The boosters will be selling plate meals as well.
Also, East Tennessee Dodge will be helping CCHS raise funds. On May 9 from 4-6 p.m., they will have several vehicles in the parking lot by the gym for everyone to look at and test drive. For every test drive, CCHS will receive $20. There will be representatives on hand to answer any questions.

Ward’s hole-in-one is highlight of Exchange Club Golf Tournament
After being rained out in April, the Lake Tansi Exchange Club Golf Tournament was played June 15 at the Tansi Golf Course, but the highlight of the tournament was a hole-in-one by Kay Ward of Murfreesboro. She recorded an ace on the par 3, third hole to win a new car from Dave Kirk Automotive.

Annual CCHS cheerleading golf tourney tees off on Aug. 24
The fourth Cumberland County High School cheerleaders golf tournament will be Saturday, Aug. 24, at Bear Trace Cumberland Mountain at 12:30 p.m.

Perfect weather conditions give way to good scores at annual City of Crossville Golf Tournament
Thirty-two teams enjoyed perfect conditions last Wednesday at Lake Tansi in the City of Crossville Golf Tournament. Those conditions were reflected in the scores.

Jr. Cross Country League camp scheduled in July
The annual Cumberland County Junior Cross Country league for elementary runners (grades 1 through 8) has scheduled its annual running camp for students of Cumberland County.

The Cumberland County High School Cheerleaders are “UCA Camp Champs”! The CCHS varsity and junior varsity squads enjoyed a week packed full of fun and excitement at UCA Cheer Camp at Tennessee Technological University June 4-7 with 25 other cheer squads.

More than 50 compete in Avalon Center 5K June 8
The Avalon Center held its first 5K run and 1 mile walk on Saturday, June 8, at Stone Memorial High School. It was a beautiful day and more 50 participants came out to enjoy the low humidity to get in their daily run and help out a worthy organization.

More than 100 attend ninth CRYSA camp
More than 100 boys and girls attended the ninth CRYSA camp at the Duer Complex last week, with campers from the nine groups receiving their Most Improved Player (MIP), Most Valuable Player (MVP) and other special awards at the conclusion of the morning session on June 7.

Mike Steinmann/Salvation Army Golf Tournament set July 27
The sixth Mike Steinmann/Salvation Army Golf Tournament is set Saturday, July 27 at the Lake Tansi Golf Course. The tournament will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $65 per person which includes a fish fry afterward along with some great prizes. There will be a hole-in-one contest on the par 3 third hole for a cash prize of $15,000, along with hole-in-one prizes on the other par 3 holes.

State women’s open field continues to grow
The field for the 15th Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open is half way to the century mark (100). The entry deadline is 5 p.m. July 3 for the July 18-20 tournament hosted by the city of Crossville at Fairfield Glade's Stonehenge Golf Club.
