CROSSVILLE —
Another Lady Jet athlete is continuing her career in college for the 2012-'13 school year.
Lady Jet senior soccer player Abby Spitler inked with Mars Hill College of Mars Hill, NC, recently, after playing four years at CCHS.
Spitler was a team captain at CCHS for three years. She earned All-District recognition four times, including three first-team selections. She led her team in assists and was the leading scorer her senior year.
Spitler earned All-Around MVP honors three consecutive seasons as a Lady Jet coached by Cub Whitson.
Spitler's former club teams include SCOR Mavericks and Blount United Stars.
“Abby has the ability to play anywhere in the midfield,” said Coach Ken Miller. “She is a technically sound player with a good understanding of the tactical aspects of soccer. We are excited to have Abby join our program and help our team score goals. Abby’s personality and character are a perfect fit for our team. We are looking forward to her coming in and competing for playing time right away.”
