Beatty Memorial Golf Tournament tees off Nov. 7-8

The entry deadline for the 2009 John Beatty Memorial Golf Tournament is Friday, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. The field is limited to the first 128 paid entries

The tournament will be played Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7-8, at the Dorchester Golf Course. There is a 10 a.m. shotgun start both days for the 26th event, named in memory of the late Dorchester greens superintendent.

This will be a 36-hole, four-person scramble using A, B, C, and D players per team. Teams are blind drawn by the tournament committee and will be flighted after Saturday's play.

The entry fee is $125 per player, which includes golf and cart for both days, tournament prizes, special event prizes and lunch after the first round. The entry fee must accompany the completed entry form. Incomplete entry forms will not be accepted.

There will be no refunds for cancellations after Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m.

Handicap and handicap index must be included on the entry form and must be an approved GHIN handicap or verified by the home professional. If verified by home professional, including professional's club, address and phone number.

Entrants whose handicaps are not verifiable will not be accepted.

A change for 2009 — players who are 65 and older and have a handicap established from the gold tees will be allowed to play from the gold tees.

Due to the popularity of this event, entrants are cautioned not to assume acceptance into the tournament. It will be each entrant's responsiblity to notify the professional staff at Dorchester Golf Course — Jack Sixkiller or Corey Wade — to verify acceptance. Call (931) 484-3709.
