CROSSVILLE —
The Stone Memorial Panther wrestling team went 3-1 on Saturday at the Seymour Duals beating Morristown West, South-Doyle and Powell, while losing a close match to Greeneville.
Cody McCarl, Dakota McAdoo, Darren Rosser, Anthony Giattino, Cody Caruthers, and Nick Bohannon went undefeated (4-0) on the day. Brenden Carter, Landon Barlow and Justin Jonhson each had three wins.
Said Coach Brian Parker, "The loss to Greeneville was very disappointing even though they had a pretty tough team. Some of our kids strayed away from the moves that they are good at and it cost them their matches. A little more self-discipline and mental toughness and we could have won the dual tournament. All of our mistakes in that match were fixed by our last match with Powell, so I am proud of our kids for making the proper adjustments. We have to keep improving, especially in our rookie weight classes, if we want to have a shot at the state finals. I am confident these guys can make those improvements."
