Lady Jets volleyball squad moves to 6-3

The Cumberland County High School Lady Jets improved their record to 6-3 overall, by finishing 4-3 in the White County Tournament over the weekend in Sparta to place fourth in the 12-team field.

CCHS beat White County, McGavock and Beech twice, but lost to Jackson County, Warren County and Mt. Juliet.

Mandy Moss had 21 aces, while Emily Jones had 18 kills and Tori Noel had four blocks.

The Lady Jets defeated Rhea County last Thursday 25-15, 25-20 and 25-21 to improve to 2-0 in District 5AAA.

Abby Patton had 15 digs, while Moss had four assists, Danielle Lancianese had five assists and Jones and seven kills.

CCHS traveled to Cleveland Tuesday for a District 5AAA match and will McMinn County Thursday at 5 p.m.
