CCHS volleyball team honors its seniors
The Cumberland County High School Lady Jets volleyball team celebrated senior night Tuesday against Monterey, honoring seniors, from left, Sarah Andrews, Emily Jones, Lillie Scarbrough and Mandy Moss. Andrews is the daughter of David and Rhonda Andrews and plans to attend Roane State CC. Jones, a four-year letterman, is the daughter of Jeff and Melissa Jones, and plans to attend cosmotology school. Scarbrough, a four-year letterman, is the daughter of Edna Scarbrough and Newt Iles, and plans to pursue a career in accounting at Tennessee Tech. Moss, a four-year letterman, is the daughter of Marsha and Shirley Hall, and plans to study nursing or education in college. The District 5AAA Tournament is Oct. 13-15 at McMinn County High School in Athens.

Last week, the SMHS Lady Panthers soccer team improved to 2-0 by defeating Rockwood High School 8-0 on Monday and Harriman High School 8-1 last Thursday.
