CROSSVILLE —
The Stone Memorial Panther wrestling team split a pair of matches with Livingston and Cookeville Dec. 4. SMHS beat Livingston 73-3, but lost 43-36 to Cookeville.
"The match against Cookeville was a great match. The crowd was really into the dual and all the kids were excited. It was tough one, with one match going either way really costing us. Our kids showed a lot of heart battling a very strong and deep Cookeville squad that is perennially a talked about team in AAA. This match has become a good rivalry between the two school," said Assistant Coach Matt Bates.
"Livingston is a much-improved team that is developing well. We came within one match of getting the shutout against them. We had a lot of good matches with them and were fortunate to come out with a solid win."
