Panther basketball camp set July 22-24
The Stone Memorial High School Panthers will be hosting the 2013 Panther basketball camp for boys in grades two through eight, July 22-24, from 9 a.m. to noon in the SMHS gym.

Lady Panther softball camp
The first Lady Panther softball camp will be June 27-29 on the SMHS softball field
The camp will have two sessions — second through fifth graders from 9 to 11 a.m. and sixth through 10th grade from 11 a.m. to 1 p. m. -
Four Panthers members of Tennessee Chosen Few basketball organization
The Tennessee Chosen Few, a travel basketball organization based in Knoxville, is seeking support for its Cumberland County team members.

OWCA 5K, Cumberland Color Run set for Saturday
The Obed Watershed Community Association (OWCA) will be holding its first 5K Run for Clean Water June 22 at 9 a.m. on Miller Bypass at Dayton Ave. It will be a professionally timed race, with awards and T-shirts available. Pre-register and pay online at obedwatershed.org.

72 teams take part in P.O.E.T.S. Invitational
The P.O.E.T.S. golf club concluded a most successful spring invitational over the past weekend with 72 two-man teams participating over the Heatherhurst Crag and Brae golf courses. The Invitational was sponsored by Cumberland Eye Care and Happy Hound Realty and a good time was had by all.

Stratton heads up women’s open field
Defending champion Lauren Stratton will head up the field for the 15th Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open, hosted by the city of Crossville, to be played at Stonehenge Golf Club. Stratton has joined the field as a professional, after winning the 2012 event as an amateur.

Age no barrier at Sportsman Club shoot
Whether its 15-year-old Andrew Smith, 69-year-old Troy Seiber or super senior Larry White, age makes little difference in posting winning scores at any trap shooting event.
All of those shooters fired top scores in the Fairfield Glade Sportsman Club’s second Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) shoot of the year at the club’s shooting complex on Shorty Barnes Rd. May 25-26. - More Area Sports Headlines
