Presson, Kanagasegar took first place in district tennis tournament
The CCHS Tennis teams traveled to Cookeville May 1-2 to compete in the District 6AAA Individual Tennis Tournament.

5K runs planned in Cumberland
Five K runs are growing in popularity in Cumberland County. There have already been four this year and more are planned. Below is a list of the 5Ks scheduled during the upcoming months.

Lady Jet basketball camp set May 23-24
The Cumberland County High School Lady Jets basketball camp will be May 23-24 for those in grades three through eight. The cost is $30 for early registration and $35 on May 23.

Jet basketball camp set May 20-21
"It is my pleasure to announce the Jet basketball shooting camp. We will be holding a shooting/offensive skills camp May 20-21 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This camp will allow young players the opportunity to go through shooting drills and learn the techniques of proper shooting form," said Jet Coach Will Foster.

Jet Hall of Fame membership increases by 10
Members of the Cumberland County High School football Hall of Fame increased to 33 with the induction of 10 former players Saturday evening in the Martin Elementary auditorium, after the Blue and Gold game was washed out that evening at Jet Stadium.

Panthers win, lose one in district tournament
The Stone Memorial Panther baseball team entered their final District 4AA Tournament by shutting out Scott County 18-0 last Thursday night and losing to Alcoa 9-8 Friday evening to fall into the loser's bracket Monday afternoon against Kingston at Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK).

Lady Jets continue play in District 6AAA Tournament
The Cumberland County High School Lady Jet softball team split their first two District 6AAA Tournament games last week, beating White County 10-0 last Thursday and losing 5-4 to Cookeville Friday night to fall into the loser's bracket Monday evening against Warren County.

Avalon Center hosting 5K, fun run June 8
The Avalon Center will be hosting a 5K and one-mile walk/fun run to benefit the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program, Saturday, June 8, at 8 a.m. Registration is at 7 a.m.

VIS golf tourney is June 22
The Visually Impaired Support Group of Cumberland County Inc. is having a golf tournament Saturday, June 22, at 1 p.m.

JA hosted 5K run
The first Junior Achievement (JA) 5K was held April 13 to raise funds to support JA in the Cumberland County school system.
