The annual Parade of Trees is one of Crossville's most enduring holiday traditions, and this year is no different. The trees, decorated by various clubs and service organizations throughout Cumberland County, currently are on display at First National Bank of Tennessee through Dec. 24. There's also a special viewing this Sunday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

LOCAL VIDEO & PHOTO GALLERY: 2009 Powwow Lorretta Howard and Daniel Paul lead an intertribal dance during the third annual Pow Wow on the Plateau, held Saturday at the Cumberland County Community Complex. The event featured Native American dancing, drumming and storytelling. It is held annually in June.

LOCAL VIDEO: Patriotic kids show up en masse for parade According to the DAR, a record number of children participated in the non-motorized parade. They dressed in their red, white and blue, decorated their bikes, trikes, battery-powered cars and wagons for the trip from the Palace Theatre to the Crossvile Depot.

LOCAL VIDEO: Relay for Life marches toward fundraising goal The 2008 Relay for Life was held Friday night at the fairgrounds. The theme was "Once upon a time ... there was a cure." Over 120 survivors registered. This year's fundraising goal was $185,000, up from last year's $177,000.

LOCAL VIDEO: Community Center opens to great fanfare The Fairfield Glade Community Club (FGCC) passed another milestone on Monday. The $6.5 million Community and Conference Center was opened to great fanfare as dignitaries such as U.S. Congressman Lincoln Davis, state Representative Eric Swafford, Crossville Mayor J.H. Graham, and many others joined the FGCC board of directors at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
