CROSSVILLE —
Charles F. Hoitash, 85, of West Lafayette, IN, formerly of Fairfield Glade, TN, passed away Feb. 12, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, IN. A memorial service will be held April 21 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfield Glade, where Charles' remains will be entombed.
He was born in Huntington, WV, to Dr. Frederick and Agnes Hoitash. Charles married Doris Laub in 1951.
Surviving are his wife, Doris, his three sons, Fred Hoitash of Ypsilanti, MI, Curtis Ashendel of West Lafayette, and Charles Craig Hoitash of Canton, MI, four grandchildren, Misty McDuffie, Kristen and Carrie Ashendel and Christopher Hoitash, and three great grandchildren.
He received a doctorate degree from Michigan State University, master's degree from Cornell University and bachelor's degree from Harvard. Charles also studied at the University National in Mexico City. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in Okinawa. Charles worked for Lever Brothers and owned a Canteen Vending of America franchise in Fort Wayne, IN. He was a full professor of Business Management at Eastern Michigan University, retiring in 1991 to Fairfield Glade, TN. Serving the Lions Club for more than 40 years, Charles was most recently active in the Lafayette Lions Club. He was also a member of the Elks. He enjoyed traveling and golf throughout his life.

Charles Presley officiating. Interment was in Algood City Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Veteran's Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends today, May 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery.

Herschel “Andy” Anderson, 78, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord May 10, 2013. Visitation was held May 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. The Rev. Bill Harvey and the Rev. James Arland Anderson officiated. Burial will be private.
