Nixon Dean Grasham, 77, passed away Nov. 11, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. EST in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dwight Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family received friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A lifetime resident of Grandview, Dean was the son of the late Charlie D. and Ona Pearl Brown Grasham. He was a steel worker and retired from Roane Electric after many years of service. Dean was a member of the Rhea Springs Lodge #310 F. & A.M.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl “Jack,” Jess, James “Buster” and Howard Grasham; and sisters, Mildred Adams, Kathleen Brown and Betty McKnight.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Barbara Jean Grasham of Grandview; daughters, Donna (Buck) Carr of Crossville and Marcia Grasham of Spring City; son, Terry (Donnita) Grasham of Spring City; brother, Robert Grasham of Crossville; sister, Sue Armour of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Grasham of Grandview, Justin Grasham of Chattanooga, Wyatt Grasham and Lakeda (Jason) Caldwell, both of Spring City; and three great-grandchildren.
