CROSSVILLE —
Funeral services for Lester Hite, 72, of Crossville, will be conducted Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Bro. Chip Meadows and Sis. Londa Richardson will officiate, with interment to follow in the George M. Phillips Cemetery in Hanging Limb. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home tonight, April 13, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Mr. Hite was born May 23, 1939, in Overton County to the late Ernest and Verlie Norris Hite. Mr. Hite passed away April 11, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Society in Fairfield Glade.
Mr. Hite was a carpenter. He was a member of the Pine Grove Church of God of Prophecy in Crossville.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bobbie Norrod Hite of Crossville; daughter, Paula Hite and fiancé, Stan Overpeck, of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Janet Hite of Crossville; grandchildren, Julius Hite of Horn Lake, MS, Nicole Kinnard of Smyrna, Lindsey Lamblin of Knoxville, and Jordan Mashburn of Crossville; great-grandsons, Hayden, Corbin and Zachary; sister, Lucille Johnson of Hartsville; mother-in-law, Oma Lee Norrod of Hanging Limb; loving sisters-in-law, Brenda Dyle of the Muddy Pond community, Barbara Cooper and Donna Overstreet, both of Maryville; and brothers-in-law, Billy Norrod and Paul Norrod, both of Hanging Limb.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Abston and Telia Cleghorn, and brother, Elzie Hite.
