CROSSVILLE — April 17, 1923—Dec. 24, 2012

Samuel Tollett, 89, was born April 17, 1923, and passed away Dec. 24, 2012, in Crossville. The family received friends Thursday, Dec. 27, at Tolletts Chapel from 9:30 a.m. to noon, with the funeral service to follow at noon. The burial will be in the Tolletts Chapel Cemetery following the service.

He was a circuit court clerk in 1962 and was an accomplished carpenter by trade. He had been the song leader at Tolletts Chapel for years and his wife and children recollect him singing and whistling throughout his day. He enjoyed fishing and doing things with his hands.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Lee Phipps Tollett; sons, Phillip Tollett and Luanna, Victor Tollett and Darlene, Tim Tollett and Brenda; grandchildren, Jason, John, Amy, Teresa, Jeremy, Camille, Sam and Amber; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Leon Tollett; and sisters, Celia Seagroves, Nancy Noland and Betty Payne.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilson, Woodrow, Leonard and Gene Tollett; and sister, Newell Kotus.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
