CROSSVILLE — Feb. 6, 1907—Dec. 30, 2012

Bonnie Bella (England) Hyder, 105, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 30, 2012, at WyndRidge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held Jan. 2 at Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. David Wilkerson officiating. Special music was by Brenda Swab and Le Ellen Glazier. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 6, 1907, in Sparta, the daughter of the late Milton and Mary (Odell) England.

Mrs. Hyder was a sales clerk at the Ben Franklin 5 & 10 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was the oldest living original Homesteader. She used to sing with her daughter, Winona, at the First Baptist Church and Homestead Baptist Church. One of her hobbies was quilting. She quilted more than 200 quilts in her lifetime. Her favorite hobby was baking. She loved to make orange slice cakes at Christmastime.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy T. and Willine Hyder of Chattanooga; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William S. Hyder; son, Clarence D. Hyder; and daughter, Winona Dunbar.

Pallbearers were Bill Mayton, David Crownover, Rick Johns, Don Smith, Skippy Brinkman and Jeffrey Boles.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Christopher Parsons was born March 14, 1927 ,in Crossville, TN. Charles went home to meet his Lord and Savior in his home surrounded by his loving family. The graveside service will be today, May 24, at 3 p.m. EDT at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ronnie Capes will perform the service. There will be no prior visitation.
