Virgie Darlyne (Stanley) Bell passed away April 4, 2012. Memorial services were held at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home April 6. The Rev. Monica Mowdy of Homestead Methodist Church officiated.
Virgie was born in Plymouth, MI, daughter of Floyd and Mildred Stanley. Virgie grew up in the Northville/Salem area and graduated from Northville High School in Michigan. She married Douglas Bell in 1949 and had four children. Virgie graduated from Western Union Technical School and was an office manager for Wolverine Machine Products in Holly, MI.
Virgie moved to Cumberland County in 1994 and was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary, VFW Post 5025. She was also a volunteer at the Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce and Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity. Virgie regularly attended weekly dances at the Disabled American Veterans in Crossville.
Virgie is survived by her daughter, Susan McNeill and her husband, Larry, of Crossville; sons, Daniel Bell of Fenton, MI, Michael Bell and wife, Janet, of Gwinn, MI; and grandchildren, Douglas Bell of Marquette, MI, Samantha Bell of Gwinn, MI, and Stephani Bell of northern Michigan.
In addition to her parents, Virgie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Doug Bell, of Farmington, MI; son, Stephen Bell of Perrysville, OH; and brother, Richard Stanley of Dearborn, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cumberland County or Cumberland County Veteran's Affairs Emergency Fund.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., crossvillememorial.com, was in charge of the arrangements.
