CROSSVILLE — Clinton Allred, 88, of Crossville, passed away May 2, 2012, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held May 5 with Bro. Roland Smith officiating. Interment was in Bolestown Cemetery in Pickett County.

Born Aug. 5, 1923, in Livingston, he was the son of the late Wolford and Nancy Jane (King) Allred. He was the husband of Betty Shadrick Allred.

Before retiring, he was employed by the DuPont Corporation, working as a welder. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Randell Allred of Midlothian, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Angela Allred of Cleveland; and daughter, Rannah Allred of Crossville. Also surviving are two sisters, Vechel Poletis of Gross Pt. Woods, MI, and Grady Lou Harrison of Anderson, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Oscar, Ophelus, Delmer, J.D. and Ether Allred; and sisters, Alpha Dosseos and Ollie Allred and infant Allred.

Serving as pallbearers were Steve Allred, Tommy Allred and Bobby Allred.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Presley officiating. Interment was in Algood City Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Veteran's Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends today, May 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery.

Visitation was held May 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. The Rev. Bill Harvey and the Rev. James Arland Anderson officiated. Burial will be private.
