CROSSVILLE — Nov. 26, 1927 — Nov. 27, 2012

Roy Davenport, 85, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 27, 2012. Funeral services were held Nov. 29 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Glen Davenport officiating. Burial was in Bakers Chapel Cemetery, with the Honor Guard folding and presenting the flag.

Mr. Davenport was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Tallahassee, FL, the son of Dallas and Lucille Davenport.

He served in the United States Army and worked as a foundry at a steel mill.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Davenport; sons, Wade Davenport (Barbara), Todd Davenport (Toni) and Scott Davenport (Pam); daughter, Marcia Bowman (Greg); grandchildren, Travis Watson, Bo Watson, Kari Bowman, Chad Davenport, Chris Davenport, Spencer Taylor, Brandon Davenport, Maurica Adkisson, Cody Davenport and Dirks Davenport; two great-grandchildren; brothers, J.D. Davenport and Bobby Davenport (Lindola); sisters, Juanita Whiteaker (Bill) and Anna Marie Watson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His grandchildren served as pallbearers.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
